The “Bud Swift” Memorial Veterans Grant
Bud Swift was a devoted husband, father, and military patriot who served in the National Guard. Bud’s love for the outdoors and strong values of honor, integrity, and pride inspired this annual grant, awarded to a military veteran in need of adaptive equipment.
Details & Eligibility Requirements
The The “Bud Swift” Memorial Veterans Grant is awarded annually to a U.S. military veteran with a spinal cord injury resulting in paraplegia or quadriplegia due to an accident (not conditions present at birth or caused by stroke, ALS, Spina Bifida, etc.)
Applicant must demonstrate financial need and request a specific piece of adaptive equipment or modification (e.g. wheelchair tires, vehicle hand controls, ramps, recreational/exercise equipment)
There is no age requirement
Applicants must reside in the United States
Grants typically range from $2,000 - $3,000 and are paid directly to equipment supplier or contractors
Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed quarterly.

Submit a fully completed application with requested details. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Include written quotes from at least two suppliers/contractors for the requested equipment or modifications.

Grants are reviewed quarterly at Board meetings, and decisions are mailed afterward.
